March 10th 2012: The bathroom in all its uglyness

This bathroom was a total no-go. I guess it is the room that underwent the most dramatic change.
Everything had been taken out and it was rebuild entirely, though leaving the water pipes mostly where they were before.
So, here is the ( drumroll )…after:

New bathtub, new toilet, new sink, new tiles. I’ve always wanted subway tiles, so in this apartment i was finally able to have them put. Although my contractor said to me that the trend was going to large tiles , i replied that my trend was going to subway tiles. Na!
The ceiling was hung down a bit in the middle to accommodate built-in spots.

The vanity, sink and big cupboard are from IKEA and give some wormth to the otherwise completely white bathroom.
And all my bathroom stuff ( towels, extra toilet paper, cat toilet stuff, make-up etc. ) are stored away and out of sight.

The big custom-made mirror above the sink and corniche goes up to the ceiling and covers almost the whole wall. This fills the room with more light even though i’m lucky to have a window here.

I’ve had the heating changed, too. I love to step out of the tub on cold days and have my towel already warm. And there was a spot where i hung some art, well actually it is a framed postcard saying ” There’s no way to happiness, happiness is the way”. Nice to be reminded of that every day.

So, what do you think? Do you like the change?
